Tips For Losing Facial Fat
Facial fat refers to areas of the face that are noticeably bigger than others because of added fat. Unfortunately, our faces are not immune to the enlarging of fat cells, and thus, just like the stomach and other areas of the body, it can and will get larger.Individuals with a lot of facial tissue tend to be overweight or obese. Living in a country that emphasizes external beauty (e.g., the United States) makes it mentally hard to deal with having a lot of facial fatty tissue for many individuals (i.e., especially women). Thus, facial fat refers to having a lot of plump material on the faces of of individuals who may or may not be overweight and obese.
Below are some tips to lose facial fat without having to resort to liposuction or plastic surgery.
Tip 1: Cardiovascular Exercise: The reason you have facial fat is likely because you have a lot of body fat. If you can lower your overall body fat percentage, your body will lose fat and the fat cells will shrink. Although it is impossible to specifically force the face to have its fat cells shrink before other areas (e.g., stomach, legs), it will shrink over time.
Tip 2: Diet: Drink lots of water (at least six glasses a day) and green tea (i.e., it boosts metabolism). Eat foods that are low in calories, fats, saturated fats, and trans fats. Avoid high-sodium and high-artificial sugar foods!
Tip 3: Exercise the facial region: Although it may sound humorous, there is research to suggest that exercising a specific facial region will burn more calories central to the area being worked. One example of exercising facial regions is chewing sugarless gum; this tactic burns calories and causes many parts of the body central to the face to engage in exercise.
Tip 4: Age: Unlike double chins that get noticeable as we age, fatty tissue tends to disappear as we get older. The reason behind this phenomenon is that we tend to cling onto our baby fat for many years, but over time it does go away. Thus, just be patient.
