The Kona coffee trees bloom during the early parts of the year and are harvested during the third quarter of the year. These are then sun dried ready for international export. These are then roasted and brewed using the most sophisticated machines yielding one of the best coffees you can ever find. Because of the popularity of Kona coffee beans, many coffee companies and farms label some low-grade coffee as Kona coffee beans or mix Kona coffee beans with other types.
Many unsuspecting customers would not even distinguish the difference, except if they are well educated of the qualities of one hundred percent pure Kona coffee (Kona coffees have rich flavor and do not leave any aftertaste). Local authorities know about this but are afraid to sue these big companies in fear for their lives. In fact, many coffees that are not really authentically Kona coffee beans are allowed to use the name “Kona” to the coffee. So, next time, if you buy Kona coffee, be sure to look out for the authentic ones. Those that are actually harvested from the farms in the Kona districts of Hawaii.
