If you are thinking of increasing your vertical lift by using plyometrics, then perhaps you have asked this question to yourself for many times – Do vertical jumping exercises really work? Well, the answer to that is an absolute YES! These said exercises, especially if performed correctly, really do work.

Basketball plyometric exercises and drills are high intensity training tactics that should be performed if and only, you are knowledgeable and experienced when it comes to these kinds of exercises. If they are properly administered, these jumping exercises will provide you with immense results. However, if performed incorrectly, it can lead to serious injuries.

You need to understand the connection between the alterations of muscle strength into muscle power. Plyometric exercises will train your muscles to achieve its maximum potential in the shortest time possible. The combination of speed and your muscle strength will lead to muscle power.

In order to maximize your potential, it is very important that you are flexible and you have that explosiveness in you. You maybe a tall, strong and fast athlete, but if you lack flexibility you are never going to achieve your goal of increasing your vertical leap. Your lower body which is consisted of your back, hips and legs need to be flexible so you could avoid acquiring any injuries as you do the exercises.

Plyometrics is different from other workouts like strength and cardio conditioning and aerobics. Here, rapid force is applied to your body to shock it. That is one reason why they call it shock training back in the days. It is very important that you do these jumping exercises correctly. If you are not sure if you are doing the exercises the right way, find yourself a jumping program. These programs normally have instructional videos incorporated in them that will teach you the proper exercises and how to perform them the right way.
